What's Next!!
2013-06-28 19:46:29

It's been awhile since we've posted. We've been exploring multiple opportunities and we also did some preliminary shooting with the Pay It Forward folks late last year!

More recently we've been working with PackH2O to document one of their projects in Kenya!

But what we're excited about right now is the new Advocating for Advocacy "AFA" program we're developing!

Over the past few years we've been developing the advocacy network. Obviously we also shot and pitched a show over much of the northern hemisphere, along with some feature documentaries. This process led us to evaluate what was missing in the general acceptance of advocacy oriented documentaries (by funders, exhibitors, networks, and audiences).

There just aren't enough of these docs getting wide distribution. And even though there may still technically be more of them "being made" [independently] than ever, they need a greater chance to be seen. The support of a wider audience.

We'll start posting regular concepts, including an outline of the program in next couple of weeks. We'll do case studies on successful films with a real world advocacy element. Eventually a study guide and a toolkit will follow for educators. This won't be the usual Toolkit you see out there. We'll be pushing the boundaries of what you think documentaries are and what you think they can achieve!

Let's go further, together!

Pay it Forward Movement!

Last weekend the team helped out at the Cinderella Project Event organized by A Place Called Home. We brought Pay it Forward bracelets and introduced the movement and the Manifesto Project to many.

We're currently following the Pay it Forward story! Updates to come soon.

The Newest in New at The Manifesto Project

Hey everybody. It's been a little while since we called in from the mother ship.

We apologize. It's been, well... tiring is an understatement.

Exhausting is more accurate.

We've been rocking postproduction on 'Programmed' on a 7 day a week hamster wheel.

We're about to send out all the details in the monthly newsletter.

On Friday, we're catching up with Jack Rose of Water for Everyone and Waves for Water fame. Jack was the pioneer behind the Raincatcher system and one of our early Manifesto! stories. He's been working in Haiti for months on end bringing safe water to the citizens down there. We'll update you more when we have the details.
